(she/her)

Caitlin Yunis is committed to building social justice educational spaces with relationships, self-reflection, and transformative practice at the center. Caitlin is the mother of two daughters, an auntie, and an educator, and strives towards bell hooks’ definition of love: “the will to extend one’s self for the purpose of nurturing one’s own or another’s spiritual growth”. She is a co-facilitator of equity-based Learning Communities on the UW Campus, and is a long-time Madison community member. Caitlin currently creates and facilitates Learning Communities at the UW Division of Extension where staff explore the ways their identities shape themselves and their access to power, and develop practices to support equity and belonging. She also facilitates and consults on other projects at UW Extension with the goal of helping to center equity in professional development initiatives, and she provides coaching for staff interested in deepening intercultural skill building. Racial and social justice are woven into many aspects of Caitlin’s life, and she is passionate about de-carceration, community care, and transformative education.
